Koomal fiber is sourced in New Zealand as a by-product of conservation programmes protecting the country's native forests and birdlife from an invasive species — a purpose-driven origin, not a commodity input. Our yarn is engineered at a New Zealand mill holding Toitū Envirocare Gold certification, independently audited and renewed through regular external review. It meets EU REACh standards, with no harmful chemical substances present at any stage of production. Surplus fiber is re-spun into new yarn rather than discarded.
Every Èidean garment is then produced on-demand in Brooklyn — knit specifically for the person who ordered it. No pre-built inventory. No overproduction. Nothing made until it has been chosen.
